EP 44: struggling to book photography gigs? get the scoop on my upcoming coaching program

Hi everyone! Today, I am thrilled to introduce a very special guest, Noella Andres. If you're a frequent listener of Summer School, you’ve undoubtedly heard me mention Noella numerous times. Her influence and presence have been so helpful in my journey as an entrepreneur and coach. So let's dive into it, and what we can expect from my upcoming coaching program, as Noella asks me questions about what I have in store this time around.

Introductions:

Meet Noella, a business coach and helper of mine, turned close friend. She embarked on her photography journey over twenty years ago, starting as a wedding photographer and quickly falling in love with the industry. Driven by a passion for making a meaningful impact, she transitioned from behind the camera to serving the photography community through her marketing and consulting brand, dedicated to storytellers. Noella excels at empowering photographers to find freedom in their careers by scaling, automating, and fostering relationship-based connections.

It was through this newfound passion that Noella and I crossed paths at a workshop. We bonded instantly, and our collaborative journey began. Over the past year, Noella has been by my side through numerous projects, from launching this very podcast to the inception of our group coaching program, “Summer School.”

The First Group Coaching Program: Lessons Learned and Future Plans

My first group coaching program, launched last spring, was an enriching experience, not just for the participants but for us as educators as well. During this period, I learned invaluable lessons about what works best in a coaching setup and what could be better. This first round mostly comprised about 10 to 15 students. We had bi-weekly coaching calls and alternating co-working sessions where we did activities like presentations, homework discussions, and open-ended Q&As.

One big realization I had was the effectiveness of our co-working calls. They allowed more time for personalized interaction, giving each participant the opportunity to discuss their individual business challenges. Moving forward, I’ve decided to focus extensively on interactive mentorship during live calls while pre-recording instructional content. This shift in structure ensures that our live sessions are truly dedicated to meaningful coaching and dialogue.

What's New: 101 and 102 Programs

Based on the feedback and experiences from our beta round, I am now launching two distinct levels within our coaching program: 101 for beginners and 102 for more advanced participants.

  • 101 Program: Building Strong Foundations

This level is designed for newcomers to the business, focusing on foundational aspects essential for any budding photographer or creative entrepreneur. Whether you’re making $0 or starting to get your first few clients, 101 is crafted to set you up for lasting success. In 101 we will cover Business Basics, Client Experience, Intro to Marketing, Financial Literacy, and more.

  • 102 Program: Advancing Your Career

The 102 program is for those who already have an established business but are looking to scale and diversify. It dives deeper into more complex topics that build on the foundations covered in 101, such as: scaling your business, retirement and passive income, advanced marketing techniques, and will feature some guest experts.

If you’re uncertain about which level you should apply for, feel free to reach out. I'm always open to answering questions to help you decide which program will best suit your needs and goals.

  • Exclusive Benefits for Alumni

Alumni of our coaching programs will enjoy some fantastic perks. Those who have completed 101 can easily transition into 102 and will gain access to exclusive discounts for both future coaching programs and events like Summer Camp. Speaking of which, our summer camps are an incredible opportunity for in-person learning, networking, and community-building.

Upcoming Events

I am also in talks to potentially host another Summer Camp this fall. It is not a for sure thing yet, but it would be an amazing chance for those in our programs to connect face-to-face, engage in hands-on learning experiences, and build lifelong friendships and business relationships. Coaching program members will get priority access and special pricing, so keep an eye out for announcements.

Final Thoughts

I couldn't be more excited about the upcoming coaching programs and all the lessons, insights, and opportunities they will bring to the photography community. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your business to the next level, there is a place for everyone at Summer School.

Thanks for tuning in, catch you in the next episode!
